Canada Terminology
- Building: In Canada, a building is equivalent to a property in the states. When this term is utilized in conversation with Canadians, it is referencing a property.
- Building Manager/Resident Manager-In Canada, this is equivalent to a property manager in the states. This is an on-site team member that lives at the property.
- Property Manager- In Canada, this is equivalent to a regional manager in the states. This person does not live on site and typically manages several buildings aka properties.
- Property Management Assistant- Assists the property manager with their responsibilities.
- Provinces- In Canada, the different regions are called Provinces. A province is equivalent to a state in the U.S.

- Pre-Authorized Debit Agreement- This is equivalent to the stateside manual ACH process. Purpose is to authorize Canada Utility Management to manually debit the resident account if the form has been completed.
- Hydro-At times residents and clients can utilize the term “hydro.” This is equivalent to electric.
